Normally, when one thinks of the sport of Polo, things that come to mind are Thoroughbred horses, formal English riding attire, beautifully groomed fields, and lots of money, just to push a little wooden ball through the opposite team's goal.
Stockmans Polo is the average person's sport. You don't need a whole string of horses to participate. All that is needed is a horse, a mallet, the ability to ride, and the love of adventure. As in any sport the game is more enjoyable with good audience participation. The Burpengary Cowboy Polo club welcomes everyone, whether interested in learning the game as a participant or as a spectator. Spectators are welcome at all events.
The current competition is running on 3 different venues, at the Burpengary Equestrian Centre, The Caboolture Showground and the Burpengary R.D.A (Riding for the Disabled). We also hold regular social play and training days at these venues.
The BCP has been running successfully for the past 10 years, offering horsemen and women a social gathering of players and spectators interested in the game of Stockmans Polo. We are currently looking to expand the competition including a full open tournament as well as a junior competition.

The club has grown from a social membership of 10 to a full 16 Goal, 3-on-3 Competition with six teams competing for the perpetual trophy. The Stockmans Polo 3-on-3 format is uniquely Australian and provides a fast paced, exciting game for players and spectators. |
